What Gezin is
Gezin is a family organizer: one shared calendar for the household, plus tasks, a weekly meal plan, recipes, a shared shopping list, and an AI assistant that turns a forwarded email, a link or a photo into calendar items you approve. It runs on Android, iPhone and in any browser at app.getgezin.com, with the same account and the same data everywhere, in Dutch, English and Turkish.
Why it is called Gezin
Gezin is the Dutch word for the household you live in: the parents and children under one roof. The app is named after it, which makes the two easy to confuse in a search. Whenever this site says Gezin, it means the app at getgezin.com, not the word.
Who makes it
Gezin is built and run by Emre, an independent developer based in the Netherlands. It started as a tool for one household and grew from there. There is no company or investor behind it, and no plan to fund it with advertising: the calendar, tasks, meals, recipes and shopping lists are free, with no trial period and no per-family subscription. Only the AI features have a fair-usage limit. We do not sell your data or use it for ads; the Privacy Policy spells out exactly what is collected and why.
Gezin works with what your family already uses: two-way sync with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar through iCloud, and read-only subscriptions to any iCal feed, such as a school or sports-club calendar.
Where to get it
The web app at app.getgezin.com is open to everyone and works on a phone as well as a laptop. The Android app is in closed testing on Google Play and the iPhone app is in beta through TestFlight, so there are no public store listings yet. The store buttons will appear on this site the moment the listings go public.
Want the app before then? Email hello@getgezin.com with the word beta, which phone you use, and the Google account (Android) or Apple ID email (iPhone) on that phone. You will get an invite as soon as you are on the tester list.
